In the year 147 AD, on a day in August, Mars collided with the star Yuguizhi. In the second year in February, Mars was still lingering near the star Yuguizhi. Another year passed, in May, Venus entered the right gate of the Taiwei Palace, stayed for fifteen days before coming out through the front gate. In that same year, on the day of Bing Shen, Mars moved to the star Dongjing. In August, Saturn moved to the south of the star Yuguizhi. A few days later, a comet appeared, with a tail five feet long, near the Tian Shi star, pointing towards the southeast, with a yellow-white color, which disappeared by September. The ancients believed that Mars colliding with Yuguizhi signified the death of a high minister, Mars entering the Taiwei Palace meant turmoil in the court, and Saturn colliding with Yuguizhi meant mourning. The appearance of the comet near the Tian Shi star heralded the arrival of a noble figure. By the year 150 AD in February, Empress Liang passed away, and Liang Ji became even more arrogant. In the year 424 AD in February, Venus could be seen during broad daylight. In the year 432 AD during a leap month, Venus appeared again during the day. At that time, the Emperor took a liking to the palace maid Deng Meng, and the following year, Deng Meng's brother was granted the title of Marquis of Nandun. Four years later, Empress Liang passed away, and Liang Ji was executed, and thereafter enjoyed immense favor.

In March of the year 436 AD, Saturn retrograded into Taiwei Palace, and seventy-four days later, it left through the Left Gate. In July, Mercury entered Taiwei Palace, and eighty days later, it left through the Left Gate. In August, Mars entered Taiwei Palace, and twenty-one days later, it came out through Duan Gate. Taiwei Palace is the palace of the Emperor! Saturn represents the court's nobles and the Empress, and retrograde indicates secret plotting. Mercury entering Taiwei Palace signifies a great flood, which could mean trouble in the harem. That year, the Luoshui River's water level rose to Jinmen, and Nanyang also experienced a major flood. Mars staying in Taiwei Palace also signals the presence of treacherous officials. At that time, the Liang family was in power. In September, a meteor was seen in the daytime, two feet long, with yellow and white colors. A few days later, Mars collided with Jupiter, indicating treachery and the potential execution of a high-ranking general. In June of the year 157 AD, Venus entered Taiwei Yuan and then disappeared. This Venus represents water, the military, and the Empress. On a day in August, Venus ran to Xuan Yuan's star, foretelling trouble for the Empress.

On a day in July of that year, Venus moved in front of Spica, signaling misfortune for another minister. Two years later in July, Empress Yi Xian passed away due to depression, fulfilling the previous omens. General Liang Ji ordered the assassination of the courtier Bing Zun by the official Qin Gong, and also planned to kill the mother of Empress Deng, Lady Xuan. When this plot was discovered, Emperor Huan confiscated the seals of Liang Ji and his wife Shou Xiangcheng Jun, which led them to commit suicide. Some members of the Liang and Sun families were executed, while others were exiled to the borderlands, fulfilling the earlier astrological predictions.

In March of 161 AD, Mars moved into the constellation of Libra. On a day in May, a guest star appeared in the camp, slowly moving forward with a long tail of light measuring five feet long, until it reached Spica and finally transformed into a comet. Mars in Libra indicated the execution of a minister. In October of the year 162, the Governor of Nanjun, Li Su, failed to defend the city from rebellion by barbarians, embezzled over a hundred million coins, even stole the bronze tiger tally from the treasury and attempted to escape, which resulted in his execution; the courtier Yan Qiao from Liyang and the official Peng Liang from Chongquan were also executed for corruption and unjust killings; the Captain of the Tiger Teeth in Jingzhao, Song Qian, was imprisoned for corruption and died in jail. The guest star transforming into a comet foretold a great tragedy. Four years later, Empress Deng passed away due to depression, fulfilling the prediction.

On a day in November of the year 164, Venus was visible in broad daylight! At that time, Empress Deng's family was at the height of its power.

In July of 1 BC, on the Wuchen day, the Chen star was in conjunction with the Suixing. On the Gengxu day in August, the Yinghuo was in conjunction with the Yuguizhi star. On the Gengshen day, the Suixing was in conjunction with Xuanyuan Daxing. On the Bingchen day in October, the Taibai was in conjunction with the Fangbei star. On the Dingmao day, the Chen star was in conjunction with the Taibai star. On the Yichou day in December, the Yinghuo was in conjunction with the Xuanyuan second star. Ah, this celestial phenomenon doesn't look too good! The book says that when the Chen star is in conjunction with the Suixing, it indicates that there will be war; when the Yinghuo is in conjunction with the Guizhi star, a minister will be killed; when the Suixing is in conjunction with Xuanyuan, the queen will face trouble; and when the Taibai is in conjunction with the Fangbei star, there will be trouble in the harem.

In February of the second year, the Tai Fu Nanxiang Marquis Zuo Sheng was executed for his crimes; his brothers, Zhongchangshi Shangcai Marquis Guan and Beixiang Marquis Dang, also took their own lives. This is truly a fulfillment of the earlier prophecy! On the Guihai day, Empress Dowager Deng was deposed due to superstition and witchcraft, and was exiled to Tong Palace, where she died shortly after. Many of her relatives, such as Shizhong Biyang Marquis Deng Kang, Henan Yin Deng Wan, Yueqi Xiaowei Deng Bi, Hubei Zhonglangjiang Anyang Marquis Deng Hui, Shizhong Jian Yulin Zuoqi Deng De, Deng Shou, Kunyang Marquis Deng Tong, Yuyang Marquis Deng Bing, and Yilang Deng Xun, were all arrested and thrown in prison. Deng Wan and Deng Hui were executed, while the others lost their official positions. To make things worse, the Governor of Jingzhou Zhi and the Governor of Jiaozhi Ge Zhi were both captured by rebel forces, and the Governor of Guiyang Ren Yin even fled during battle, resulting in their execution. Ah, this truly fulfills the prophecy of "Yinghuo violating Yuguizhi star, leading to the death of ministers"!

On the day of Xinhai in September, Mars entered the western gate of the Taiwei Palace and stayed for 58 days. In the year 170 AD, on the day of Gengyin in the first month, Mars retrograded into the eastern gate of the Taiwei Palace, remained in the center of the Taiwei Palace for 101 days, and left the front gate. On the day of Bingxu in July, Venus was visible during the day, traversing the sky.

According to astrology, when Venus violates the Heart Front star and the Ghost and Chariot Quality star, it indicates that a high-ranking official will be killed. When Mars enters the Taiwei Palace, it indicates that treacherous officials will be in power. Venus violating the Heart Front star predicts war and death. Saturn entering the Taiwei Palace and violating the left enforcement position suggests that a high-ranking official will be executed. If Saturn stays in the Taiwei Palace for 50 days, it suggests that the emperor will achieve something. When Mars and Venus enter the Chariot and Ghost asterism, it predicts death and funerals, and if they violate the Quality star, it suggests that a high-ranking official will be killed. Mars staying in the Taiwei Palace for 101 days predicts that the emperor will achieve something. Jupiter's visibility during the day, traversing the sky, predicts war that threatens the lives of high-ranking officials.

In November of the year 169 AD, Liu Zhi, the Prefect of Taiyuan, and Cheng Ji, the Prefect of Nanyang, were both executed for killing innocent people, while Li Wei, the Inspector of Jingzhou, was captured by bandits, and Meng Xuan, the Gentleman of the Imperial Secretariat, was executed for taking bribes and leaking information. On the day of Dingchou in December of the year 170 AD, Emperor Huan of Han passed away, and Grand Tutor Chen Fan, Grand General Dou Wu, Prefect of the Imperial Secretariat Yin Xun, Chief of the Yellow Gates Shan Bing, and others were all wrongfully killed, which fulfilled the omen of the Heart Star and Mars Star residing in the Taiwei Palace.

In June of the year 171 AD, the Heart Star entered the Taiwei Palace in the west, crossing paths with the Southern Head Star of the Western Barbarians. "Taiwei" refers to the Heavenly Court. The movement of the Heart Star within it foretells the closing of palace gates, generals preparing for battle, and the execution of ministers. In August, Grand Tutor Chen Fan and Grand General Dou Wu conspired to kill the eunuchs; on the day of Xinhai in September, Palace Attendant Cao Jie and Chief of Changle Five Officials Zhu Yu discovered their plot, falsely proclaimed an imperial edict, and killed Chen Fan and Dou Wu, and their families were exiled to Jinan Commandery.

In October of the year 178 AD, Mars moved into the Southern Dipper. Those who divined said, "Wherever Mars stays, there will be war." The Southern Dipper corresponds to the land of Wu, and sure enough, in November, a bandit by the name of Xu Zhao appeared in Kuaiji (modern-day Shaoxing, Zhejiang), gathering a following and declaring himself the Grand General, claiming to be a descendant of the King of Yue! Xu Zhao went on to conquer cities and territories, causing chaos across the counties.

On Bing Yin day in August, Venus moved in front of the Xin Su star. On Xin Wei day, a white gas appeared in the sky, like a piece of white silk, heading straight towards the fourth star of the Big Dipper constellation. The soothsayers said, "Wen Chang star represents generals and high officials; Venus clashing with the Xin Su star foretells trouble for the ministers." Six years later, Minister Liu He was framed by the eunuch Cao Jie, leading to his death in prison. The white gas heading toward the Big Dipper foretold a major battle, and in the following winter, Governor Zang Min of Yangzhou and Prefect Chen Yin of Danyang led troops to fight the bandit Ju Kang, beheading several thousand.

On Gui Chou day in April of the year 184 AD, a meteor collided with the Xuan Yuan Fourteen star (Alpha Leonis), then flew northeast and finally plunged into the Kui star of the Big Dipper. In August, another comet appeared, emerging from the north of the Kang Su star and flying into Tian Shi Yuan. Initially, it was only a few feet long, but it soon grew larger, reaching five to six zhang in length, shining red. It flew across the sky for more than ten mansions, eighty days, before finally disappearing into the Tian Yuan star. The soothsayers said: the meteor signifies a noble person embarking on a journey, the Xuan Yuan Fourteen star represents the imperial palace, and the Big Dipper Kui star represents slaughter. The meteor flying from the Xuan Yuan Fourteen star to the Big Dipper Kui star indicates that the emperor will dispatch envoys for a military campaign, which will result in slaughter. In the year 184 AD, the Yellow Turban Rebellion broke out, and the court dispatched generals Huang Fu Song, Zhu Jun, and others to suppress it, resulting in over one hundred thousand beheadings! This comet passing through Tian Shi Yuan signifies that heaven is signaling a change of location, and the emperor wants to move the capital. Indeed, in 189 AD, Emperor Xian relocated the capital to Chang'an.

In the winter of the year 186 AD, a comet appeared near the stars Sirius and Arcturus, flying eastward until it disappeared near the Zhang Su star. In October, Jupiter, Mars, and Venus gathered in the Xu Constellation, with only five or six inches separating them, like a string of beads. The fortune tellers said, "The appearance of Mars in the Taiwei Palace foretells the rise of traitors and chaos." At that time, the eunuchs Zhao Zhong, Zhang Rang, Guo Sheng, Sun Zhang, and others were scheming and creating turmoil in the court. The comet entering the Taiwei Palace also signaled that a change of rulers was imminent. In the sixth year of the Zhongping era, Emperor Ling of Han passed away. The gathering of Jupiter, Mars, and Venus in the Xu Constellation signaled an impending funeral. The Xu Constellation is associated with the Qi region. The following year, Prince Liu Ji of Langye passed away.

During the Guanghe period, when Emperor Ling of Han was in power, a star representing the emperor, known as the National Sovereign Star, appeared in the southeast corner, about ten to twenty feet high above the ground, shining like a burning torch, and disappeared after more than ten days. The diviners said, "The appearance of the National Sovereign Star indicates that there will be internal rebellion in the court, and there will be wars and casualties both internally and externally." Later, Zhang Jiao, the leader of the Yellow Turbans, led a rebellion that caused widespread chaos and devastation, affecting all provinces and counties. The court dispatched troops to suppress the rebellion, resulting in the deaths of over a hundred thousand Yellow Turbans. In the sixth year of Zhongping, Emperor Ling of Han died, and the Grand General He Jin secretly recruited over a thousand soldiers and set an ambush outside Luoyang. Then, He Jin secretly sent someone to invite the Governor of Bingzhou, Dong Zhuo, to bring troops to the capital, claiming they would work together to eliminate the eunuchs. As a result, after Dong Zhuo brought his troops to the capital, a fierce battle broke out between the South Palace and the North Palace, resulting in thousands dead and numerous palaces burned. Finally, the capital was moved to Chang'an. Later, Minister Wang Yun and General Lu Bu assassinated Dong Zhuo, but Dong Zhuo's subordinates Guo Si and Li Jue retaliated by attacking Chang'an, leading to nearly ten thousand officials and civilians killed or injured. This chaos in the world all started from within.

On Guihai Day in October 177 AD, a guest star appeared in the Southern Gate constellation, which was enormous, roughly the size of a half cushion, fluctuating between brightness and darkness, and disappeared in the following year in June. It appeared three more times before disappearing after more than sixty days. On the Dingmao day in June, another celestial body appeared, about the size of three bowls stacked on top of each other, coming from the Guansuo constellation and moving southwest into the Heavenly Market Enclosure, disappearing only after reaching the Tail Star. The fortune tellers proclaimed, "When the comet sweeps through the Purple Palace, a change of rulers is imminent; when the celestial body enters the Heavenly Market Enclosure, a nobleman will meet his demise." In the second year of April, the emperor passed away.

One summer day during the Zhongping era, a meteor appeared in the sky, red as fire and about three zhang long, coming from the Hegu constellation, entering the Heavenly Market Enclosure, colliding with the Eunuch Star. The Eunuch Star turned pale, two to three zhang long, with its tail curved twice, disappearing shortly after, resembling a curved arrow. The fortune tellers said, "The curved arrow shooting towards the palace signifies that although an arrow should be straight, if it is curved, the intentions of the archer are not righteous." In the sixth year of Zhongping, the Grand General He Jin planned to kill all the eunuchs. The eunuchs caught wind of this and killed He Jin in the palace, leading to disastrous consequences for both sides and resulting in chaos in the realm.

In September of 192 AD, the Chiyou flag appeared, over ten zhang long and white, appearing in the south of the Jiaosu and Kangsu constellations. The fortune tellers said, "The appearance of the Chiyou flag signifies that the emperor will launch campaigns in all directions." Later on, Cao Cao rose to the position of Prime Minister and led campaigns for nearly thirty years.

In October of 194 AD, a broom star appeared between two Antares, moving northeast into the Heavenly Market Enclosure before disappearing. The fortune tellers said, "When the comet sweeps through the Heavenly Market Enclosure, the Heavenly Emperor will relocate, and the emperor will shift the capital." At that time, the emperor resided in Chang'an, and two years later, the capital was subsequently moved to Luoyang. In the seventh month of the following year, the emperor finally arrived in Luoyang, and in August, Cao Cao greeted the emperor upon his arrival in Xudu.

In the year 198 AD, on the Xin Hai day in October, a comet appeared in Daliang, located in Jizhou. Yuan Shao was in Jizhou at that time. In November 198 AD, Yuan Shao's army was defeated by Cao Cao. In the summer of the seventh year AD, Yuan Shao died, and later Cao Cao occupied Jizhou.

The diviners said, "The comet sweeping through the Taiwei Palace indicates a change in rulers." Later, Wei Emperor Cao Pi usurped the Han Dynasty and proclaimed himself emperor.

It is said that on the Xin Mao day in October of the twelfth year, a comet appeared in the Spica asterism. At that time, Liu Biao, the governor of Jingzhou, was in control of Jingzhou. Zhou Qun, an official from Yizhou, felt that this foretold the death of Liu Biao and the loss of Jingzhou. Sure enough, the following autumn, Liu Biao died, and his son Liu Cong succeeded him. Cao Cao prepared to attack Jingzhou, and Liu Cong, in fear, surrendered to Cao Cao.

In December of the seventeenth year, another comet appeared in the Five Hegemons asterism. Zhou Qun said that this indicated the western princes who held territory were about to lose their lands. At that time, Liu Zhang controlled Yizhou, Zhang Lu held Hanzhong, Han Sui occupied Liangzhou, and Zong Jian held Fanghan. That winter, Cao Cao sent a general to attack Liangzhou. By the nineteenth year AD, Zong Jian was taken captive, Han Sui fled to the Qiang people and later died of illness. In the autumn of that year, Liu Zhang lost Yizhou. In the following autumn, Cao Cao attacked Hanzhong, and Zhang Lu surrendered.

In the autumn of the eighteenth year AD, the three stars—Suixing, Zhenxing, and Yinghuo—moved into the Taiwei asterism and stayed retrograde for more than a hundred days, facing the emperor's seat.
