In February of the year 292 AD, a huge rift suddenly opened up in the northwest sky! Liu Xiang once said, "When the sky cracks, there is a deficiency of yang energy; when the earth moves, there is an excess of yin energy," which indicates a deficiency of yang energy and an excess of yin energy. At that time, the emperor was indifferent to everything, and Empress Jia Nanfeng held all the power.

In April of the year 293 AD, Mars stayed in the Taiwei Palace for 60 days. Astrologers claimed, "This portends that the feudal lords and high-ranking officials will rebel, and some officials will definitely be executed." Another interpretation was even more serious: "The emperor is destined to lose his kingdom!" In the spring, Venus stayed in the Bi Xiu constellation for over a hundred days. Astrologers warned, "This indicates that urgent orders will be issued, and the country is in danger." Others warned, "The prime minister is doomed, and the border will be restless." That year, the three stars Zhenxing, Suixing (Jupiter), and Taibai (Venus) aligned in the Bi Xiu and Mao Xiu constellations. Astrologers said, "This indicates war and death, with Bi Xiu and Mao Xiu corresponding to the territory of Zhao." Eventually, Empress Jia schemed against the crown prince, deposed and executed the King of Zhao, as well as Zhang Hua and Pei Wei, eventually usurping the throne and reducing Emperor Hui to a retired emperor. From then on, chaos reigned in the world, and disasters continued.

In April of the year 295 AD, a star traveled from Kui Xiu to Xuanyuan and Taiwei, passing through San Tai and Daling. Astrologers said, "Kui Xiu represents the state of Lu and the arsenal, Xuanyuan represents the harem, Taiwei represents the imperial palace, San Tai represents the three high-ranking officials, and Daling represents the accumulation of corpses, foretelling widespread death." The following year, the armory was engulfed in flames, and the Western Qiang revolted. Five years later, Sikong Zhang Hua was assassinated, Empress Jia was deposed and killed, and Lu Gong Jia Mi was also executed. Another year later, Prince Zhao Sima Lun usurped the throne. Thus, three princes rallied their forces to confront Sima Lun, and over 100,000 people died among the common people and soldiers.

In June of the year 296 AD, at midnight, a star like a bent arrow flew from the Big Dipper's Dubhe (the Pivot of Heaven) towards the southeast. The diviners said, "This is chaos upon chaos! The Big Dipper governs military affairs, and this star flying out from Dubhe indicates that the one in charge of military affairs is not rightful." In October, Venus could be seen during the day as well. Later, King Zhao killed Zhang Hua and Pei Wei, deposed Empress Jia, avenged the Crown Prince, then usurped the throne, ultimately leading to a massacre. This was indeed "using chaos to confront chaos," fulfilling the prophecy of war and the rise of powerful ministers.

In February of the year 299 AD, Mars halted in Antares. The diviners said, "This is an ominous sign for those in power." In August, Mars entered the Feather Forest, the Imperial Guards. The diviners said, "The Imperial Guards are about to launch a large-scale operation." Two years later, Emperor Hui was deposed as the Retired Emperor, followed by three princes rising up to attack Sima Lun. Sima Lun sent out all the Imperial Guards, and the two sides remained at a standstill for several months.

In March of the year 300 AD, oh no, something serious is brewing in the south; the Middle Terrace star has even cracked, and Venus can be seen during the day! The fortune-tellers said, "This is a sign of major events to come! 'When the demon star appears, a great army will rise in the world. When the Middle Terrace star is abnormal, the three highest officials in the court will face misfortune. When Venus is seen during the day, it means there are traitors conspiring to rebel.'"

This month, Empress Jia had the Crown Prince killed, and then Prince Zhao Lun had Empress Jia and Grand Preceptor Zhang Hua killed and usurped the throne, becoming the Emperor! Several princes then emerged, vying for power and profit, each taking turns to wield authority. By May, Mars moved into the Southern Dipper constellation. "When the Prime Minister dies, the army rises. The Dipper also represents Wu." The diviners foretold the Prime Minister's death and a significant battle, with the Southern Dipper constellation symbolizing Wu, indicating impending chaos in that state. At that time, Prince Zhao Lun served as the Prime Minister; the following year, he usurped the throne but was soon defeated by other princes who rose against him. In the year 302 AD, Shi Bing captured Yangzhou.

In August 300 AD, Mars moved into the constellation of the Winnowing Basket. "When the ruler loses his position, the army rises." This signifies that the Emperor will lose his position and that war is imminent. By December, a comet appeared to the west of the Cowherd constellation, pointing to the Heavenly Market. "The Cowherd is the beginning of the Seven Luminaries. The appearance of a comet indicates a change in era!" The Cowherd is the first of the Seven Luminaries, and the appearance of a comet here indicates a change in dynasty! The Heavenly Market is also known as the Heavenly Court, or the Emperor's seat. Sure enough, the following year, Prince Zhao usurped the throne, changed the era name, and was quickly defeated.

In February 301 AD, Venus appeared from the west and retrograded into the Eastern Well constellation. "When the country loses its governance, the ministers rebel." This indicates that the country's governance is failing and that the ministers are plotting rebellion. In April, a comet appeared in the Qi constellation. "Qi will suffer a loss of troops." This means that Qi will go to war, and many will die. At that time, King Qi Jiong raised an army to confront Prince Zhao Lun. After Prince Zhao Lun's defeat, King Qi Jiong commanded a large army but disregarded the court's orders, ruling with absolute power and acting recklessly, which ultimately led to his death the following year.

In the year 301 AD, from the first month to the leap month, five stars appeared in the daytime sky for several months in a row. The "Book of Stars" says: "The sun represents the ruler, and the stars represent the subjects. When the sun comes out, the stars cannot be seen, and the subjects cannot hold power. Seeing stars in the daytime sky at noon is called 'crossing the sky,' indicating that the subjects will rebel and change the dynasty. Now, all five stars are appearing during the day; this is a celestial phenomenon like never before!" Shi's explanation is: "If the morning star appears during the day, the country will either be doomed or thrown into chaos." At that time, various feudal lords were fighting for power and gain, two emperors fled, and six minority forces were powerful, taking turns occupying the Central Plains, which was unprecedented in history.

In the first year of Yongning, in May, Venus appeared during the day. The divination results were consistent with previous findings. In July, Jupiter stayed in the constellations of Xu and Wei. The divination indicated: "Jupiter's presence in Xu and Wei signals the threat of war." Another interpretation is: "Staying in Xu indicates famine; staying in Wei means heavy corvée labor, inflicting severe suffering on the populace." The morning star entered the Taiwei Constellation. The divination said: "This is a sign of internal strife." Another interpretation is: "The ministers will kill each other." Venus stayed at the Right Gate. The divination warned: "War, rebellion, and banditry are imminent." On the day of Wuyou in the eighth month, the town star invaded the Left Law and Upper Minister stars. The divination said: "The Upper Minister is at risk." Mars stayed in the Pleiades. The divination said: "The states of Zhao and Wei are destined for disaster." The morning star stayed in the Carriage Ghost Constellation. The divination said: "The state of Qin is fated for disaster." On the day of Dingwei in the ninth month, the moon invaded the Left Corner star. The divination said: "The ruler is in danger." Another interpretation is: "The Left General will die, and rebellion will break out across the realm."

In the year 302 AD, on the Guǐyǒu day of the fourth month, Jupiter appeared during the day. The divination stated: "This is a sign of the minister's strong power." In October, Mars and Venus clashed in the Xūxiù and Wēixiù constellations. The divination warned: "There will be a large-scale war; the army will suffer defeat, and generals will fall. Xūxiù and Wēixiù mark the borders of the state of Qi." In December, Mars attacked Venus in the Yíngshì constellation. The divination indicated: "A rebellion will arise, signaling the downfall of a nation." Another interpretation suggests: "A change of prime minister is imminent." Initially, King Jiǒng of Qi pacified the capital, leaving behind a regent, but he ended up abusing his power and disregarding the emperor. In that month, Prince Sima Yǐng of Chengdu and Prince Sima Yē of Hejian sent troops to aid Prince Sima Yì of Changsha in his campaign against King Jiǒng of Qi. Jiǒng and Yì fought, both sides attacked and burned the palaces. Jiǒng was defeated and killed, and his older brother, General Sima Shí, along with over twenty others, were also killed. By the second year of Tai'an, Prince Sima of Chengdu attacked Prince Sima of Changsha, leading to hunger and suffering for both the court and the populace, leaving them exhausted.

In the year 303 AD, in February, a phenomenon of "Tai Bai entering the Mǎo constellation" appeared in the sky. The divination warned: "Chaos will engulf the world, and a large-scale war is imminent." In March, a comet appeared in the east, pointing to the Sāntái constellation. The divination indicated: "This signals defeat in battle; Sāntái represents the three highest-ranking officials of antiquity." In July, Mars entered the Dōngjǐng constellation in the east. The divination said: "There will be an outbreak of war, and the nation will descend into chaos." In autumn, Venus hovered near the Tàiwēi Shàngjiàng constellation. The divination foretold: "The general will meet his end in battle." That winter, Prince Sima of Chengdu and Prince Sima of Hejian launched an attack on Luoyang.

In January of the year 304 AD, King Sima Yue of Donghai captured King Sima Yi of Changsha, and Zhang Fang executed Sima Yi. In August of the year 303 AD, King Sima Yi of Changsha left with the Emperor to escape from the Kings of Chengdu and Hejian, and temporarily stayed at Xuanwu Hall. On that day, a strange phenomenon occurred in the sky, where it appeared to split in two, accompanied by thunderous sounds. "The sky split like thunder"; these three celestial phenomena mirrored those from the Yuankang era (299-300 AD), foretelling that ministers would usurp power. At that time, Sima Yi held absolute power in Changsha; later, the Kings of Chengdu, Hejian, and Donghai took turns in power, all fulfilling the previous omens. On November 11th, 303 AD, a star fell from the sky during the day, falling northward and emitting thunderous sounds. Divination said: "This is called Ying Shou; it is where military generals are located, signifying impending large-scale warfare and bloodshed." The following year, Liu Yuan and Shi Le attacked Bingzhou, resulting in widespread devastation. Wang Jun raised troops in the Yan and Dai regions, leading the Xianbei forces to besiege Ye city, leading to countless casualties. This thunderous sound symbolizes rage.

In the 11th month of the year 303 AD, the Planet of Destiny entered the moon. The divination said, "The country will have a situation where ministers will clash with each other." On the day of the 12th month in the year 304 AD, the Tai Bai star was eclipsed by the moon. The divination said, "There will be war in the world." On the day of the 1st month in the year 304 AD, the moon eclipsed the Tai Bai star, which is the same as the divination results from the Qinglong period. Mars entered the Southern Dipper, which is the same as the divination results from the Yongkang era. In this month, Mars was also eclipsed by the Planet of Destiny. The divination said, "There will be a large-scale war." In July, General Chen Zhen of the Left Guard led an army to attack the King of Chengdu as ordered, resulting in the defeat of the six armies and the enemy forces closing in on the emperor's chariot. In September, Wang Jun attacked the King of Chengdu in Ye City, which fell, and the King of Chengdu died in battle. The emperor returned to Luoyang, but Zhang Fang seized the emperor and took him to Chang'an. At that time, banditry was rampant, especially under the influence of Zhang Chang. Two years later, Emperor Hui died. In May of the year 304 AD, a guest star appeared in the sky and stayed in the Pi constellation. Astrologers said this foreshadowed the emperor's line would be cut off, or that ministers would face execution. "The guest star guards the Pi. The divination says, 'The emperor will have no heirs,' or 'ministers will face execution.'" This is an ominous sign!

On the Gengshen day of July 7th, the Bright Star afflicted the Jiao and Kang constellations, passed through Fang and Xin, then swept through Wei and Ji, and in September entered the Southern Dipper. Astrologers offered various interpretations, but all agreed it was an ill omen. "In July Gengshen, the Bright Star afflicts Jiao and Kang, passes through Fang and Xin, sweeps through Wei and Ji. In September, it enters the Southern Dipper. The prediction is: Afflicting Jiao indicates a major war in the world; afflicting Kang suggests a large army and worries for the ruler; entering Fang and Xin foretells military calamity; afflicting Wei suggests rebellion by generals and the people; afflicting Ji indicates worries for the empress." Some say, "Chaos in the world. Entering the Southern Dipper signifies military disaster." Some say, "Generals will cause chaos." They say that the Bright Star afflicting the Jiao constellation predicts a major war in the world, while afflicting the Kang constellation suggests a large-scale war and worries for the emperor; entering the Fang and Xin constellations means there will be military disasters; afflicting the Wei constellation suggests rebellion by generals and the people; afflicting the Ji constellation suggests worries for the empress. Some also say that this predicts great chaos in the world, entering the Southern Dipper signifies military disaster, and even generals rebelling. The regions affected by these calamitous stars include Yanzhou, Yuzhou, Youzhou, Jizhou, and Yangzhou. As predicted, the Battle of Dangyin took place in July, and in September Wang Jun killed the Inspector of Youzhou and Yan, attacked Ye City, which was soon captured. Yanzhou and Yuzhou became battlegrounds, and chaos erupted across the realm. Chen Min rebelled in Yangzhou, while Liu Yuan, Shi Le, Li Xiong, and other previously obscure figures rose up, seizing control of provinces and commanderies. Empress Yang faced imprisonment on several occasions. In the first year of the Guangxi era, Emperor Hui died without leaving an heir. "The invasions also correspond to the divisions of Yanzhou, Yuzhou, Youzhou, Jizhou, and Yangzhou. In July of that year, the Battle of Dangyin took place. In September, Wang Jun killed the Inspector of Youzhou and Yan, attacked Ye, which fell. Thus, Yanzhou and Yuzhou became battlegrounds. Chen Min caused chaos in Yang, while Liu Yuan, Shi Le, Li Xiong, and others rose up from obscurity, seizing control of provinces and commanderies. Empress Yang was frequently deposed. In the first year of the Guangxi era, Emperor Hui died, leaving no heir.

In the year 304 AD, on the Yichou day of the seventh month, a meteor fell from the sky with a huge sound; in the second year of October, the meteor appeared again, once more accompanied by a loud noise. Liu Xiang interpreted this as a sign of the people abandoning their land. "In the first year of Yongxing, on the Yichou day of the seventh month, a star fell with a sound. In the second year of October, the star fell again with a sound. According to Liu Xiang, this is a sign of the people leaving their land." This foretells the impending fall of the Central Plains! In the same year, on the night of Renyin in December, a red light appeared in the sky, piercing the heavens, accompanied by a rumbling sound. In the second year, on the day of Dingchou in October, a red light appeared in the north again, crossing the sky from east to west. Astrologers claimed that this foreshadowed a large-scale war, and the rumbling sound signified anger. "In the first year of Yongxing, on the night of Renyin in December, a red mist spread across the sky, with a muffled sound. In the second year of October, on the day of Dingchou, red gas appeared in the north, crossing the sky from east to west. The divination said: 'This indicates a great army. The muffled sound signifies anger.'" Afterwards, chaos erupted throughout the land, with battles raging across all regions, "Subsequently, the four seas were thrown into turmoil, and the nine regions were embroiled in conflict."

In the year 305 AD, on the day of Bing Zi in the fourth month, Venus was in conjunction with the Wolf Star, astrologers said that this heralded a large-scale war. "In the second year of Yongxing, in the fourth month of Bing Zi, Venus was in conjunction with the Wolf Star. The divination said: 'The troops are rising.'" In September, the Year Star was positioned in the Eastern Well, which also indicated war, and the Eastern Well corresponded to the region of Qin. "In September, the Year Star guards the Eastern Well. The divination said: 'There are troops. The Well also corresponds to the region of Qin.'" That year, Gou Xi defeated Gong Shi Fan, Zhang Fang defeated Wang Xiao of Fanyang, and generals from the western regions attacked Wang Yu of Hejian. Wang Yu fled in panic and was ultimately killed by Wang Donghai. In August of the year 305 AD, a comet appeared in the Pleiades and the Net; astrologers said that this heralded a disaster of war. "In the second year of Yongxing, in August, a comet appeared in the Pleiades and the Net. The divination said: 'Loss due to war.' The Pleiades and the Net correspond to the regions of Zhao and Wei." On the day of Ding Chou in October, a star appeared in the Big Dipper. Some said that this was a sign that the Xuanji Star was changing position, indicating that the emperor would be fleeing; others said that this was a sign of a powerful country sending troops and the princes vying for power. "In October of Ding Chou, a star appeared in the Big Dipper. The divination said: 'The Xuanji has changed hands, the emperor would be fleeing.' It also said: 'A powerful country is sending troops, and the princes are vying for power.'" All of these predictions came true later. In the following year, Emperor Hui died. "In the next year, Emperor Hui passed away." In April of the year 306 AD, oh no, trouble is brewing! That Tai Bai star in the sky, it moved north from Yi to Wei and Ji! The fortune teller said: "If the Tai Bai star moves north like this, it indicates a new beginning, but if there is no large-scale war, there will definitely be a massacre in the city!" Sure enough, in May, this troublemaker, Ji Sang, attacked Ye City. The Wei County Governor, Feng Song, led his troops into battle but suffered a disastrous defeat! Ji Sang then killed Dong Yan Wang Teng, slaughtered over 10,000 people, and set fire to the palaces of the Wei Kingdom!

In May, trouble happened again! The Wandering Star moved southwest! The fortune teller said, "This is a sign of more chaos to come!" At that time, Sīmǎ Yuè defeated the King of Héjiān in the west and then welcomed the emperor back to the palace. Then, he arrested Miǔ Yìn, Hé Suí, and others, claiming they had ulterior motives and were plotting rebellion, which made him universally despised. Later, Shí Lè burned his corpse, fulfilling the earlier prophecy. In the ninth month of the Dīngwèi year, Mars was in the Heart constellation! The fortune teller said, "This is a great omen of disaster for the king!" On the day of Jǐhài, the Tíngxīng star moved into the Fángxiù and Xīnxiù constellations and aligned with the Suìxīng! The fortune teller said, "With Saturn in Fángxiù, there will be many disasters and deaths; in Xīnxiù, there will be great chaos in the country, and a general amnesty is needed!" He also said, "When the Tíngxīng and Suìxīng appear together, it is a sign of internal turmoil!" At that time, Sīmǎ Yuè wielded great power, but ultimately fell due to his tyranny and irrationality—doesn't that indicate internal turmoil? In November, Huìdì died, Huáidì ascended the throne, and then a general amnesty was declared. In the twelfth month of Guǐwèi, Venus aligned with the Tíngxīng! The fortune teller said, "This is a sign of civil war, a big battle is coming!" Afterwards, the King of Héjiān was killed by Sīmǎ Yuè, the Donghai King. The fortune teller said, "This is a sign of a big battle coming!" Sure enough, the following year, Wáng Mí rebelled in Qīngzhōu and Xúzhōu, Jísāng caused trouble in Héběi, chaos engulfed the country, with disasters everywhere! In the first month of the first year of Yǒngjiā, one night, a massive meteor suddenly streaked across the sky from the southwest to the northeast, followed by a multitude of smaller meteors, painting the sky red and rumbling like thunder. Some diviners interpreted this meteor as a sign that high-ranking officials were about to embark on a mission.

In May of the same year, Ji Sang assassinated Teng, the King of Dong Yan, and took control of the Hebei region. In November, the court sent He Yu to defend Ye City, resulting in Tian Zhen and his allies defeating Ji Sang and killing him at Le Ling. Later, the court appointed Tian Zhen as the Governor of Ji County, and his brother Tian Lan as the Governor of Julu. The smaller meteors trailing the larger one symbolized the ambitions of the young generals commanding their forces. At that time, Sima Yue was very angry because the areas east of Wei County and south of Pingyuan were all in league with Ji Sang. He granted these territories to Tian Zhen and his allies, like a blazing fire in the sky, reflecting Sima Yue's fury. In December of the first year of Yongjia, those meteors scattered. According to ancient books, the stars in the sky symbolize court officials, while the smaller stars symbolize the common folk. When the meteors scattered, it meant that court officials and the common people would flee in all directions, leading to countless casualties. In January of the second year of Yongjia, Venus vanished from sight. It was only seen in the east in February. This signified that something expected to appear was absent, foreshadowing ominous events ahead. After that, the wars continued, with countless deaths, and ultimately, the emperor perished in the Xiongnu's camp, and the Central Plains fell.

In the third year of Yongjia, in the first month, Mars invaded the Purple Star Enclosure (the place where the Celestial Emperor resides). The diviners said that this heralded a king's death in the wild and a fire in the imperial palace. At that time, the Grand Astrologer Gao Tangchong advised the emperor to move quickly; otherwise, Luoyang would surely fall. Sure enough, in the sixth month of the fifth year, Liu Yao and Wang Mi attacked Luoyang, burning down the palaces and temples, and the emperor ultimately died in Pingyang. In the third year of Yongjia, Saturn lingered near the Southern Dipper for a long time. The diviners said that wherever Saturn was located, that country would be blessed. At that time, the Prince of Langye began to build his power in Yangzhou. In the eleventh month of the same year, an earthquake occurred, which Chen Zhuo interpreted as a response to celestial events. In the twelfth month of the third year of Yongjia, two white gases appeared in the southeast and north, like ribbons shooting up into the sky, passing through the constellations of Canopus and Altair. The diviners said that this signaled that a large-scale war was about to break out. In the third month of the fourth year, Sima Yue captured Miu Yin, Miu Bo, and others; at the same time, unrest and warfare raged across the land. In the third month of the fifth year, Sima Yue died in Ningping City, and Shi Le defeated his army, leading to the deaths of over 100,000. In June, Luoyang was burned down, and the emperor was captured.

In October of the fifth year of Yongjia, Mars lingered near Antares. Two years later, the emperor died in the Xiongnu camp.

In the seventh month of the sixth year of Yongjia, back then, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus were all squeezed between the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl stars, swaying in and out. According to the diviners, "The Cowherd, Yangzhou is divided," indicating that trouble was brewing in Yangzhou. Later, both capitals of Eastern Jin were destroyed, but Emperor Yuan revived Eastern Jin in the Yangzhou area, and that came to pass, didn't it?

In the first year of the Jianwu reign of Emperor Min, on the 7th day of the 5th month, Venus and Mars aligned in the Eastern Well constellation. The oracle declared, "When Venus and Mars meet, it foretells death." Although Emperor Min was trapped in Pingyang at the time, no one dared to leave the throne unoccupied, so this calamity was aimed at Emperor Min. In the sixth month, Venus moved to the Taiwei Palace, the emperor's residence. The oracle revealed, "When soldiers invade the emperor's court, it spells trouble for the king." In July, Emperor Min met his end in the enemy's camp, and people across the land donned mourning attire, mourning his death.

In July of the year 318 AD, the sight of Jupiter crossing the Southern Dipper appeared in the sky. The soothsayer predicted, "The regions of Wu and Yue are going to war, and the powerful will be troubled."

The following year, in February of 319 AD, Mars crossed the Eastern Well. The oracle revealed, "There will be war, and high officials will kill each other." In August of the same year, Jupiter crossed paths with the Xuan Yuan star. "There will be strife in the harem." Shortly thereafter, Jupiter crossed paths with Saturn in the Yi constellation. "A military mutiny is imminent!"

In April of the year 320 AD, a celestial phenomenon of "wayward arrow pointing at emptiness, danger, missing wings, and the shaft" appeared in the sky. The diviners said, "The place pointed by the wayward arrow will face the wrath of the world. The wings and shaft constellations, that is the boundary of Jingzhou!" In May, the planet Venus entered the constellation of Taiwei, affecting the General Star. "The emperor will personally lead the army into battle, and the general will be executed!" In June, Venus and Saturn met in the Fang constellation. "War and famine are about to occur!" In September, Venus once again triggered the Southern Dipper, just like in the year 318 AD. In October, the planet Mars was in the Eastern Well, in the south of five feudal lords, stagnant for a full thirty days. "If Mars stays in the Eastern Well for more than twenty days, the powerful will be troubled; staying in the realms of the five feudal lords, some lords will be killed." In December, Venus entered the Moon, in the Dou constellation. Guo Jingchun said, "The Moon belongs to water and is a symbol of the underworld. Venus is the planet of gold, invading the Moon; this is heaven saying that the balance of justice is disrupted, destroying its own laws."

In December of the year 321 AD, the Moon triggered Saturn in the Fang constellation. The divination result was, "That country will experience war and famine, and the people will be displaced." In March of the year 322 AD, Wang Dun led the armies of Jiangzhou and Jingzhou to attack the capital, engaging in fierce battle, resulting in the defeat of the imperial army. The generals Zhou Yi and Diao Xie were killed, and General Liu Wei fled. In April, the imperial court also killed the Inspector of Xiangzhou, Prince Qiao Cheng, and the General of Zhen Nan, Gan Zhuo. In the same year, in the intercalary month of December, Emperor Yuan passed away. A year later, Wang Dun was also executed, fulfilling the prophecy indicated by the celestial phenomenon of "the wayward arrow touching the wings."

In October of the same year, Shi Le invaded Yuzhou, plundering the inhabitants of Chengfu and Bi counties and heading north. The Inspector of Yuzhou, Zu Yue, sent troops to pursue, but was defeated by Shi Le and was forced to retreat to Shou Chun.

In January of the year 327 AD, Mars entered the Taiwei Palace. The astrologers predicted, "This is a sign of military disaster; the emperor will face misfortune as a result." Indeed, in the same year, in the eighth lunar month, the emperor died. By the year 329 AD, Su Jun rebelled, attacking the imperial palace, which led to the Empress Dowager's excessive worry, ultimately causing her death. The emperor was trapped in Shicheng, battles broke out throughout the country, and it was not until the year 331 AD that the chaos was finally brought under control.

In July of the year 331 AD, a comet appeared in the northwest direction, disappearing twenty-three days later. The astrologers predicted, "This is a sign of military chaos." In the same year, in December, Guo Mo killed the Governor of Jiangzhou, Liu Yin. The Governor of Jingzhou, Tao Kan, marched against Guo Mo and killed him the following year. At this time, Shi Le also declared himself emperor.

On the bingchen day of January in the year 333 AD, the moon entered the Southern Dipper constellation. The astrologers predicted, "There will be war." Some also said, "There will be a nationwide amnesty." In that month, the Hu people invaded Lou County and Wujin County, killing many civilians, and the court sent troops to guard Zhongzhou. The following year, the Hu people attacked the people of Nansha County and Haiyu County. In January of that year, the court issued a nationwide amnesty while simultaneously suppressing uprisings in Huainan and Xiangyang, eventually pacifying the rebellions. In November of the year 333 AD, Mars stayed in the constellations of the Stomach and the Pleiades. The astrologers predicted, "The states of Zhao and Wei will go to war." In July of the year 335 AD, Shi Le died, and Shi Hu declared himself emperor, committing widespread slaughter. Although Shi Le and Shi Hu both declared themselves emperors, their fortunes—strong and weak—were reflected in the Pleiades constellation, which had little connection to the Taiwei Palace.

In the third month of the year 335 AD, on the day of Jihai, the moon entered the Southern Dipper, just as it had six years earlier. In the same year in July, Shi Le died, Peng Biao defended Qiao County, Shi Sheng defended Chang'an, and Guo Quan defended Qinzhou, all surrendering to the court. The court then sent Protector Gao Qiu to lead troops to rescue Peng Biao, but Peng Biao was defeated and Gao Qiu retreated. Later, Shi Hu and Shi Bin attacked and eliminated Shi Sheng and Guo Quan. In January of the year 332 AD, the court ordered a general amnesty throughout the country. In July of the year 335 AD, Mars entered the Pleiades. The soothsayers foretold, "The Hu king is about to die." Shi Hu launched attacks everywhere, causing widespread slaughter. In August, the moon violated the Pleiades. The soothsayers foretold, "The Hu people are not at peace." In June of the year 336 AD, the moon once again violated the Pleiades. At this time, although Shi Hong inherited Shi Le's imperial throne, Shi Hu was domineering and extremely cruel. In October, Shi Hu deposed Shi Hong and proclaimed himself emperor, imprisoning and killing Shi Hong.

On the day of Jihai in the third month of the year 336 AD, Mars entered the constellation of Yugu, violating the Accumulated Corpse star. The soothsayers foretold, "There will be war in the northwest, and the army will suffer casualties." In April, General of the Western Regions and Governor of Yongzhou, Guo Quan began to surrender to the court, but was soon defeated by Shi Bin, and his followers were relocated to Qingzhou and Xuzhou.

On a day in February of the year 335 AD, the planet Venus appeared in the Pleiades constellation. The soothsayers foretold, "This indicates that there will be a war outbreak, and there will also be a severe drought." In April, Shi Hu's cavalry reached Liyang. The court grew increasingly worried about Shi Hu's military strength, so Wang Dao was promoted to Grand Marshal and put in charge of deploying troops and preparing for battle. The court also set up military camps in Cihu, Niuzhu, and Wuhu to strengthen defenses. However, by May, these military camps were disbanded. At this time, the Hu forces besieged Xiangyang once more, and General of the Expeditionary Forces, Yu Liang, sent Ning Ju to lift the siege. In June, a drought indeed occurred.

In August 335 AD, one day, Mars was in the heart (Mars entered the constellation Jing). The diviners said, "If there is no war, war will break out; if there is war, the war will end." That summer, the court mobilized troops, established military camps across the country, and reinforced defenses.
